Does running a Insurance quote affect your credit score?

Insurance inquires do not affect your credit score. You are not applying for a loan so the credit request is flagged as being for insurance only. However your credit score can give you a lower rate on both Auto and Home Insurance. Most companies use credit-based insurance rates. Leaving off your social security number when requesting a quote will result in either a non-quote or a high rate on the quote.

What is the difference between Comprehensive & Collision?

Comprehensive or Other Than Collision and Collision are physical damage insurance coverages on a personal or business auto insurance policy. Collision coverage provides reimbursement for damage less deductible for your vehicle after you’ve been in a car accident. Comprehensive or Other than Collision, provides reimbursement less deductible for a set of named perils that include, fire, hit an animal, falling object, car get’s struck by lightning and more.

Do I need more than the State Minimum Auto Liability Coverage?

The quick and easy answer is, yes. Texas state minimum auto Liability is $30,000 per person for Bodily Injury to the other person up to a total of $60,000 per accident, and $25,000 for property damage to the other person per accident. The insurance company will only pay up to the limits you purchase and you are responsible for the difference in cost. If you hit and total a newer vehicle, is $25,000 enough or will you be left footing the repair bill? If you put someone in the hospital, will $30,000 be enough or will you be left footing that fill? The is very little cost to double your coverage. This is where our expertise can help you get the correct coverage for the price.

Does my car insurance cover me when I rent a car?

If you carry comprehensive and liability coverage on your car insurance, then coverage will extend to your rental car. If you’re renting a car of similar value to your personal car, in all likelihood the insurance coverages will be adequate for the rental. Remember that you would have your deductible to pay in the event of damage to the vehicle rented. You should also check with your credit card company — If you rent using a credit card, you may have some rental car coverage through the credit card company.

How much should I insure my home for?

Replacement Cost for Your Home is Not Based On Current Real Estate Prices that change based on the area of town the house is located and the market. In real estate looks at what someone else will pay for your home. Insurance is based the rebuild cost. Example, after a fire, there would be the cost of tear out before you even start the reconstruction. A contractors cost is not based on the area of town you live in. There is also a 80% Coinsurance provisions in the policy that require the insured to purchase and maintain 80 percent of the structure’s insurance replacement value at the time of the loss; this means that if the insured structure’s replacement value is $100,000 and there is an 80 percent coinsurance requirement, the insured must carry $80,000 of coverage to receive full payment for a partial loss (less any deductible). Each insurance company has methods to calculate replacement cost.

General Liability Insurance vs. Business owners Policy (BOP)?

General Liability Insurance protect against Bodily Injuries suffered on your commercial premises, Property Damage you caused while doing your work, Advertising / personal injuries (slander, libel, copyright) General Liability compensates you for attorneys' fees, court cost, and settlements or judgements. Business Owners policy bundles a couple of insurance insurance policies into one convenient package at a reduced rate. This typically includes General Liability plus other coverages such as Property Insurance, and Business Interruption.
